Not with a classic ThinkPad though. It was a dream machine, and the X, just like other classic ThinkPads, offers the same extensibility and user-friendly servicing. The rest of the RAM is soldered to the board. Like, what? Who thought that was a good idea? Being a laptop, it also features various ports that some modern laptops users may only have heard of. The X provides everything you could practically ask for here:.
I like to think that a classic ThinkPad is akin to a Toyota Corolla, one of the most if not the most reliable production cars ever produced. Classic ThinkPads just feel like business. The keyboard isn't much of an issue for me since I haven't had a ThinkPad in about 6 years T41 was the most recent , so the X keyboard would probably still be a big improvement over what I've used since then. Am I missing anything significant? If you needed a new laptop in the next 30 days, are there any other differences keyboard aside that would convince you to go for the X?
The main difference other than the keyboard is a slight increase in CPU processing power and a fairly large jump in integrated GPU performance.
If you aren't going to be taking advantage of those two features, the X is a perfectly okay choice although I'd stick with the i5 CPU and save some more money. MidnightSun , May 31, The USB3 port is a nice bonus. ZaZ , Jun 1, Summilux , Jun 1,
