How does concurrent education work




















Acceptance is dependent on GPA subject and specialization requirements of the completed undergraduate degree. Applicants interested in pursuing the Concurrent Education option must apply directly to the undergraduate program of their choice on the Ontario Universities' Application Centre OUAC website and select the Concurrent option.

Diverse Course Offerings The Faculty of Education offers a wide range of program streams to address practices that are important to you.

Academic Year Attendance Level Full-time Part-time. The Schulich School of Business reserves the right to review each situation on an individual basis. Admissions will review the course with the highest grade. After applying to the undergraduate program, you will receive an acknowledgement email from York with your York reference number. The acknowledgement email will be sent within 2 business days of receiving your application. York will begin assessing applicants and may make conditional offers of admission as applications are received.

You are encouraged to present as strong an academic profile as possible. Application processing times vary depending on your application type. It usually takes 4 to 8 weeks for your application to be processed and for a decision to be made. Teacher candidates develop teaching-related skills, and gain knowledge and experience throughout their program.

Upon successful completion of the program, teacher candidates are normally recommended to the Ontario College of Teachers for membership and to receive their Ontario Certificate of Qualification.

For additional information on course descriptions, check under the department for a specific subject for example, English. This is a limited enrollment program. Although admissions will be primarily based on grades, other criteria such as teaching area of high need may be used in the selection process in any given year.

Admission is not guaranteed by attainment of the minimum requirements. Note: The Department of Educational Studies reserves the right to assign concurrent education students in their final two years, to either the Hamilton or St. Catharines campus in order to secure school placements aligned with teachable subjects. Students are responsible for their own transportation for practice teaching and other activities related to the program.

Brock is pursuing more modern facilities in Burlington and will operate at the current Hamilton Campus through the end of the academic year.
