Ciel was innocent and didn't go through hardship, so when his parents were murdered and he lost everything by being kidnapped by a cult, you can't blame him for losing faith. He was able to summon a demon out of hatred. During Ciel's capture, he hoped that God would come to save him.
What awaited next was a cruel reality. In the first anime that was not canon to the manga's story, the opening scene we saw was Ciel summoning Sebastian with black feathers floating about. This is not how it indeed occurred in the manga. Continuing from the second fact, Ciel lost complete hope in God coming to save him and embraced the intense hatred for the people of the cult. Because of this and how severe his malice was for the cultist, Ciel was able to summon the demon who would serve him throughout the series, Sebastian Michaelis.

But of course they couldn't have just waited for Yana Toboso to write the story, the fans were just dying for a second season, so they had to rush and make a new plotline which I thought was dumb. They had enough manga material to build about 3 more seasons off of, so why didn't they just follow the manga like the good little bakas they are? Idk, some people loved the second season, but I personally think it was lackluster and just a waste of time and money, to be perfectly honest.
You do have a point There are many things the story writer could have done to make Kuroshitsuji better but ever since Season 2 was completed its popularity slowly began to increase. Either because fans wanted more characters to be introduced or that it was too early for the series to end Well, if this so-called 'third season' is anything like the second, i might just have to get rid of all my Kuroshitsuji paraphernalia I also hear that it takes place in the underworld.
Its supposed to be realised somewhere in I wonder how things will turn out for this one. It was a bad idea to end the season like that, but I suppose it catered for some fans not wanting Ciel to die and for Ciel and Sebastian to be together forever.
